Venza Fuel Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid exhibited issues such as a check engine light, rough engine running, stalling at idle, and jerking during acceleration. Diagnostics indicated a defective fuel pressure sensor, but the problem was traced to a faulty cable connection to the sensor. Repair involved replacing the cable and recalibrating the sensor, resolving the performance issues.

I haven't inspected the fuel injectors directly. But considering the error code implicates the fuel pressure sensor, could a malfunctioning injector convincingly mimic such a failure, presenting identical symptoms? Should I examine the injectors before replacing the sensor?

While the code points to the sensor, these systems are interconnected. A bad injector can definitely mess with the fuel pressure readings. Given the symptoms and the mileage, it might be worth having a workshop take a look. They can perform more thorough diagnostics.

Following your recommendation, I sought professional diagnosis at a reputable workshop. The issue stemmed from a defective cable connection to the fuel pressure sensor, resulting in erratic fuel pressure readings. The repair, consisting of cable replacement and sensor recalibration, amounted to 95€. The vehicle now performs optimally.

Interesting. I drive a Venza too. I had similar symptoms a while back. Did you happen to check the fuel injectors themselves? Sometimes a misfire due to a faulty injector can trigger similar fault codes and engine behavior. Is the roughness consistent, or does it come and go?
