Verso automatic temperature control issue

Hello, I have a 2018 Toyota Verso with a gasoline engine and 103554 km on the clock. Lately, the automatic temperature control has stopped working. There's an error stored in the error memory, and the air conditioning system doesn't switch on anymore. I suspect it might be a faulty interior temperature sensor, possibly a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I also own a Verso and had similar climate issues a while back. Does the error code specifically point to the interior temperature sensor, or is it more generic? Air conditioning systems often rely on multiple sensors (sun sensor, evaporator sensor etc.) to function correctly. If it is indeed the interior temperature sensor, it’s responsible for telling the system the cabin temperature, so it can adjust the heating and cooling accordingly.

Thanks for the quick reply. The error code does point directly to the interior temperature sensor. I've checked the fuse, and it seems fine. I'm wondering where exactly the interior temperature sensor is located in the Verso, and if it's easily accessible for inspection.

Okay, if the error is specific and the fuse is fine, then the sensor itself or its wiring is indeed the likely culprit. While I haven't personally located it in the Verso, interior temperature sensors are generally found somewhere on the dashboard or steering column. Given your symptoms, I would suggest visiting a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose the wiring or the sensor directly.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion and the advice. I took it to a local garage, and it turned out to be a defective plug connection as we suspected. The repair cost 95€. The sensor works fine now.
