Verso boost pressure issue

Hi, I have a 2013 Toyota Verso diesel with 171351 km. The check engine light is on, and the car jerks when accelerating. I hear whistling and loud hissing when accelerating, and sometimes the engine stalls at idle. I've noticed higher fuel consumption and reduced engine power. I suspect it's the turbo system. Could it be the boost pressure sensor? I checked the cable and plug, and they look okay, but I'm not sure what else to check.

Sounds like a boost sensor issue. Have you checked for any obvious leaks around the intake manifold?

Yes, intake leaks are common. Given the symptoms, and that you've checked the sensor connection, I'd recommend getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective cable/plug connection to the boost pressure sensor, just like I suspected. They replaced it, and the total repair cost was 95€. Everything is running smoothly now.
