Verso Camshaft Sensor Issue

My 2017 Toyota Verso, gasoline engine, with 108278 km starts poorly and has reduced power. I got a camshaft sensor error code. The wiring and plug look okay, but I suspect an intermittent fault. Has anyone else had camshaft position issues, maybe even stalling?

I had a similar issue on my Toyota Avensis. The check engine light came on, and the car ran rough. Have you tried cleaning the sensor or checking the voltage at the connector?

Thanks, I haven't cleaned the sensor yet, but the voltage seemed okay. The intermittent problem makes me think it's a wiring fault. Was your issue consistent, or did it come and go?

Mine was intermittent at first, but it became more frequent. Given your voltage checks, a workshop diagnosis might be best for more in-depth testing.

I took it to the workshop, and it was a defective cable or plug connection. The repair cost 95€, so it's all good now.
