Verso CAN Bus Communication Error

I'm having a strange issue with my 2009 Toyota Verso diesel, around 149425 km on the clock. I'm getting sporadic errors while driving, sometimes with error lamps. Systems, mostly audio/navigation, are failing intermittently. Control units shut down or become unresponsive. I scanned the error memory and there's an error stored. Anyone seen something similar? I suspect a defective cable connection to the BUS system.

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Verso. Random errors popping up, radio cutting out, the whole shebang. I spent ages trying to figure it out myself, checking fuses and all sorts, but no luck. What kind of error codes are you getting?

Thanks! The error code points towards a communication error within the CAN bus system. Did your issue also result in stored error codes, and did the diagnosis also point toward the BUS system?

Yep, that's exactly it! Communication errors. I took it to a workshop. They mentioned a faulty cable connection to the control unit, causing disruptions on the BUS system. Given the age of our cars and the symptoms you're describing, it's worth getting it checked out by a professional.

Thanks a lot! It sounds like the same issue. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the cable connection to the control unit was defective, just like you suggested. The repair cost me about 155€. Everything seems to be working fine now. Your experience was really helpful!
