Verso Low Heating Output

I've got a 2013 Toyota Verso with a gasoline engine and I'm having some heating issues. The heating output is really low, especially noticeable on cold mornings. I scanned it and found an error stored related to the water valve. I've checked the valve itself, and the connections seem okay, but I suspect it might be a cable or plug issue. The car has 114685 km on it. Any ideas before I start tearing things apart?

That's a pain. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, although it was the thermostat causing similar symptoms. Weak heat, error code... Have you checked for any coolant leaks? A valve blockage could also lead to engine overheating, so keep an eye on the temperature gauge.

Thanks for the quick reply! Coolant level is fine, no visible leaks anywhere. The engine temp seems normal too, never goes above the middle mark. You mentioned thermostat on your Astra – was the error code specifically pointing to the thermostat, or was it something more generic?

In my case, the code was quite specific to the thermostat circuit. But considering you've checked for the obvious coolant issues, and the temp gauge is normal, and given you have an error code for the water valve, it really does sound like the valve itself or its wiring. Honestly, at this point, I'd just take it to a workshop to get it diagnosed properly. Saves a lot of hassle.

Yeah, you're probably right. Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and it turned out to be a defective water valve. They replaced it, and the heating is working perfectly now. Total cost was 95€ Appreciate the help!
