Verso oil temperature warning light

My 2012 Toyota Verso with a gasoline engine is showing the engine oil temperature warning light on the speedometer at 68997 km. Diagnostics shows an error, and the oil pressure lamp is also on. I suspect a bad cable or plug to the oil temperature sensor. Anyone seen this before?

I also own a Verso. I had similar symptoms a while back – warning light, error code, and the oil pressure lamp. I would check the temp sensor.

Thanks. Could you explain what you mean by 'check the temp sensor'? What did you actually do?

I mean the cable or plug connection of the sensor might be defective, like you suspected. I didn't do anything myself; I took it to a workshop. They found the problem right away.

Understood. Thanks. The workshop visit resulted in replacing the faulty engine oil temperature sensor, as suspected. Total repair cost: 95€.
