I mean the cable or plug connection of the sensor might be defective, like you suspected. I didn't do anything myself; I took it to a workshop. They found the problem right away.

Understood. Thanks. The workshop visit resulted in replacing the faulty engine oil temperature sensor, as suspected. Total repair cost: 95€.

I also own a Verso. I had similar symptoms a while back – warning light, error code, and the oil pressure lamp. I would check the temp sensor.
