Verso power windows failure

Hi, I have a 2013 Toyota Verso with a diesel engine. My power windows can no longer be operated. I also scanned the error memory and there's an error stored related to the window control. I was thinking it might be the power window switch that's defective. It has 60174 km. Has anyone experienced this before?

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Insignia a few years back. The symptoms sound awfully familiar. Before jumping to conclusions about the switch, have you checked the door panel wiring loom where it passes from the car body into the door? They can sometimes fracture over time, interrupting the power supply to the window motor. Also, were there any other codes stored besides the window control one? Sometimes multiple issues pop up due to one underlying problem.

Thanks for the input. I didn't check the wiring loom. Is that easy to access? And no, that was the only error code showing up. I was just assuming it was the switch since all windows stopped working at the same time.

Accessing the loom usually involves removing the door panel, which isn't too difficult but can be fiddly. Plenty of videos online to guide you. However, if all windows are affected simultaneously and the code specifically points to the control unit, then yes, the switch itself becomes a prime suspect. In my case, it was just one window, hence the wiring check. Still, with modern cars and their ECUs, it's difficult to pinpoint without proper diagnostics. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they can properly test the switch and the rest of the circuit.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the power window switch. The repair cost me 200€ including parts and labour. It's all working fine now.
