Viano boost pressure sensor issue

My 2006 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine is showing signs of a bad boost pressure sensor. The engine light is on, it jerks when accelerating, there's a whistling noise, and a hissing sound when under load. Sometimes it stalls when idling, fuel consumption is up, and engine power is down. I think the cable or plug connection to the sensor might be bad. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Vito. Check for boost leaks around the intake manifold and turbocharger. A faulty pressure sensor could trigger all those symptoms, especially the engine light and power loss.

Thank you for your input. Could you elaborate on the specific location of the suspected boost leak on your vehicle? Was it readily apparent, or did it require specialized diagnostic equipment to identify?

For me it was around where the intake manifold connects. Couldn't see it directly, but a hissing sound was a clue. Better get it checked at a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor. Replacing it, along with fixing a corroded connector, seems to have resolved the issue. Total cost was 95€.
