Viano central locking problems

Central locking failure on my 2009 Mercedes Viano gasoline engine with 257205 km Car locks won't work and dashboard is showing error messages related to the central locking system I suspect a loose cable or plug since it happened overnight Key fob battery is not the issue

Summary of the thread

The central locking system on a 2009 Mercedes Viano failed, displaying error messages on the dashboard. The initial suspicion was a loose cable or plug, as the issue arose overnight, and the key fob battery was ruled out. A suggestion was made to check the fuse box, but the fuse appeared fine. Ultimately, a visit to a workshop revealed a defective connection, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

That sounds frustrating I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane a few years back The car locks just stopped responding to the key fob, and even using the physical key in the door was a struggle Did you check the fuse box It might sound simple, but a blown fuse can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems

I had a quick look at the fuse box, but I'm not entirely sure which fuse is for the central locking on the Viano Do you remember which fuse it was on your Megane, or maybe how you figured it out

I don't remember the exact fuse number, but the Renault manual had a diagram showing which fuse controlled what If your Viano has a similar diagram, it should point you in the right direction Honestly, though, after messing around with it for ages, I ended up just taking it to a workshop Turned out to be a faulty wiring harness, which was beyond my capabilities Best of luck

Thanks for the tip I checked the fuse diagram in the manual like you said, and the fuse looked fine So I took it to my usual shop, and you were right it was a defective connection, just like the error code said They charged me 95€ to fix it Annoying, but at least it's sorted I can relax knowing the car alarm will actually work now
