Viano mixture preparation error

My 2007 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine is showing a mixture preparation error at only 25195 km It has reduced engine power rough running and jerking during acceleration plus it stalls at idle and the check engine light is on I checked the mass airflow sensor and spark plugs but they seem fine Could a defective catalytic converter or intake manifold be the cause

I had very similar symptoms with my Vito including the check engine light The issue was a defective injector I suggest you have that checked Has the diagnostic error code been read out

The error was noticeable primarily at lower engine speeds and during acceleration Given the diagnostic code and similar symptoms a defective injector is a strong possibility I would recommend taking it to a workshop to have the injectors properly tested and if needed replaced

I appreciate the advice I took the Viano to a workshop as you suggested The injectors were indeed defective The repair cost 515€ and the issue is now resolved Thanks again for your help
