Thank you for sharing! When you mention checking the wiring harness and connector, could you elaborate on any specific points to look for? Were there any particular signs of damage or corrosion that you observed, or any specific areas where the connection might be vulnerable? Any further details would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, my memory is a bit hazy on the specifics. It was a while ago, and I'm not that technical myself. I just remember poking around and then eventually giving up and taking it to the workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly, and it turned out to be something simple, like a corroded connector. So, yeah, check for anything obvious, like frayed wires or green gunk on the pins. But if you're not comfortable, don't force it. It might be worth the 95€ just to have a professional sort it out, especially if it's impacting multiple systems.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and offer advice. Based on your recommendation and my own limitations, I've decided to take the Viano to a trusted workshop for a thorough inspection and repair. As suspected, it was indeed a faulty connection to the outside vehicle temperature sensor, which has now been rectified. Your insights were invaluable in confirming my suspicions and guiding my decision. Thank you again!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Vito. If the outside temperature sensor is giving bogus readings, it throws everything off. The AC not kicking in is a classic symptom, and frozen washer nozzles also point to the same culprit. Mirror heating too? Yep, sounds like the outside car temperature sensor is definitely your prime suspect. Before paying, double-check the wiring harness and connector. Make sure they're clean and making good contact. I'm not a mechanic, but that's where I would start.
