Viano Tire Pressure Sensor Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Mercedes Viano owner reported a tire pressure sensor fault, despite the tires appearing fine. The issue could be due to a sensor malfunction or a minor air valve leak. It was suggested to check the air valve and consider a workshop visit for sensor issues, as replacing and recalibrating sensors can be complex. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a dead sensor battery, which was resolved at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the air valve specifically. Assuming it is the sensor, is that something I can fix myself, or am I looking at a trip to the shop?

Honestly, replacing the sensor itself can be tricky because it often involves recalibrating the system. When my Opel had this happen, the garage said the sensor battery was empty, which is apparently common. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly and replace the sensor if needed. It might be a bit more expensive, but you'll save yourself a headache.

Just wanted to let you know you were spot on! Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the sensor battery. Cost me 280€ to replace. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue on my old Opel a few years back. Kept getting low tire warnings despite the tires looking alright. Have you checked the air valve itself? Sometimes they can leak a tiny bit. If the error message pops up and the tire pressure is indeed fine, it's highly likely a sensor issue.
