Viano turn signal issue

My 2005 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine has a turn signal problem I'm getting an error message and a fault in the lighting system memory The car has 292980 km Has anyone seen this before I suspect a bad connection maybe a cable or plug I hope it's not the flasher relay or just a bulb replacement I don't think the broken lens is the problem I estimate around 95€

Whoa sounds like a headache Electrical gremlins are the worst Before you start tearing everything apart have you checked the simple stuff Like are all the bulbs actually good Sometimes a bulb can look okay but be internally fried Also wiggle the bulb holder and the connector Could just be a loose connection or some corrosion Does it happen on both sides or just one indicator light

Thanks for the tips I checked the bulbs they look fine It's happening on the right side only When you say 'wiggle the connector' do you mean where the bulb holder plugs into the light assembly or further back in the wiring harness

Okay right side only narrows it down a bit By connector I meant where the bulb holder plugs into the light assembly Give that a good wiggle and maybe even try cleaning the contacts with some electrical contact cleaner if you have any If that doesn't fix it it probably IS a wiring issue further back and honestly for that you're probably better off taking it to a workshop Could be chasing wires for days

I took it to the shop as you suggested It turns out it was a corroded connector in the light assembly just like you said They cleaned it up and replaced a short section of damaged wire The bill came to 93€ so pretty close to my initial estimate Thanks for the advice it saved me a ton of time
