Viano windshield wiper heater problem

My 2012 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine has a heater malfunction with the windshield wipers. The vehicle has 131505 km. The spray nozzles freeze at cold temperatures, and an error is stored. A defective cable or plug connection is likely. Has anyone encountered this?

I had a similar issue with my Vito. Check the fuse box first; there's a dedicated fuse for the windshield wipers heating element. If the fuse is fine, then check the voltage at the connector of the heating element, which can be accessed once you remove the nozzles.

Could you provide further details on the location of the fuse and the specific connector you are referencing? I want to ensure I am checking the correct components.

The fuse location should be indicated in your owner's manual. Usually, there is a diagram. Regarding the connector, it is directly attached to the windshield washer nozzles. If you're not comfortable with electrical testing, I would suggest visiting a workshop. The repair shouldn't be very expensive.

I appreciate the advice. Based on your feedback and a more thorough inspection, I opted to visit a workshop. The issue was indeed a defective connector as initially suspected. The final repair cost was 95€.
