Vios AC not working warning light

My 2005 Toyota Vios (gasoline engine) AC isn't working. It won't even switch on, and the speedometer shows a warning light. I scanned for errors and there's something about the refrigerant compressor. I'm thinking it might be the AC control unit. Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my Vios. The AC just stopped working and it was a real pain, especially in the summer. I never got a warning light on the speedometer, but the AC wouldn't turn on and obviously no cold air was coming out. Did you notice any weird noises before it went out completely?

No weird noises that I recall, it just suddenly stopped working. Was your problem also the AC control unit? What did you end up doing to fix it?

Yeah, it sounds very similar. I'm no expert, but given the symptoms you're describing, it could well be the AC control unit as you suspect. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, they know these cars better than I do. They replaced a faulty component. I would suggest going to a workshop to get an estimate!

Thanks for the info! Sounds like a trip to the workshop is my next step. Hopefully, it's not too expensive. I saw online it could cost around 980€, so fingers crossed it's less than that!
