Vios injection problem

My 2003 Toyota Vios with a gasoline engine is having some trouble. Mileage is around 190k km. I'm experiencing higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the engine stalls at idle sometimes. Also, there's smoke when accelerating. Suspect it's the injection system. Checked all the visible air hoses, but they appear fine.

I also own a Vios, though a different model year. Those symptoms sound very familiar. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the injection components? A defective connection can cause those issues.

Can you be more specific? Which cable and plug connections should I be focusing on?

Unfortunately, no, I can't be more specific with the cable and plug connections as I don't recall which one was defective. Your best bet is to visit the workshop. In my case, the mechanic was able to pinpoint the defective connection and fix it easily. I hope you get to solve the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. Took it to a mechanic, and you were right. It was a defective cable connection in the injection system. Repair cost me 95€. Runs like new now.
