Vios Speedometer and Oil Sensor Errors

Hi, I've got a 2017 Toyota Vios with a gasoline engine, and I'm getting some weird errors. The speedometer keeps showing an error message, and the error memory has something stored about the oil level sensor. Plus, the warning light in the speedometer comes on, and sometimes the oil pressure warning lamp lights up too. I've checked the oil level, and it seems fine. Could this be a faulty sensor or something? I read somewhere it might be the cable or plug connection.

Greetings! I also drive a Toyota Vios and encountered a somewhat similar issue not too long ago. Was the oil pressure warning lamp constantly illuminated, or did it flicker intermittently? Have you inspected the wiring harness connected to the oil level sensor for any visible damage, such as frayed wires or corroded connectors? These preliminary checks might offer valuable insights before proceeding further.

Thanks for the reply! The oil pressure warning lamp flickers, it's not constantly on. As for the wiring harness, where exactly is that located? I'm not super familiar with car mechanics, but I can probably take a look if I know where to find it.

Ah, intermittent flickering indeed suggests a potential wiring issue. Locating the oil level sensor harness can be tricky, as it varies. Given the intricacies involved and the potential for misdiagnosis, I strongly advise consulting a qualified mechanic for a comprehensive assessment. It is the most prudent approach to ensure accurate diagnosis and prevent potential complications.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I was hoping it would be a simple fix, but it sounds like it's best to leave it to the pros. I'll take it to the workshop and have them check the sensor and wiring. The cable was defective and they fixed it for 95€. Appreciate the help!
