Thanks for sharing your experience with the S-Cross transmission issues. Your symptoms do sound identical to what I dealt with on my Vitara. Did you remember roughly how much the total repair cost? Just wondering if repair prices have gone up since I had mine fixed. Also curious if youve had any recurring transmission problems or overheating issues since getting the sensor replaced? My repair has held up well but always good to know what to watch out for.

After having the transmission oil temperature sensor replaced and getting the low gearbox oil level corrected, everything has worked flawlessly. The total repair came to 365€, which included parts and labor. This resolved all the grinding and shifting problems completely. Looking back, catching the faulty sensor early prevented more serious transmission issues from developing. Since the fix, there have been zero overheating problems or warning lights. The transmission now shifts smoothly just like it did when new. The mechanic explained that maintaining proper transmission oil levels is crucial for preventing future sensor malfunctions. Regular transmission maintenance checks have helped ensure the repair continues performing well. The investment was worth it considering how a faulty temperature sensor, if left unchecked, could have led to much costlier transmission repairs down the road. The S-Cross has been running perfectly for daily driving with no recurring issues since the fix.

Glad to hear your S-Cross repair worked out well. After your reply, I finally took my Vitara to a local transmission specialist who dealt with these gearbox sensor issues before. The repair cost was higher at 520€ but included a complete transmission diagnostic and fluid change along with the new temperature sensor. The mechanic found some metal particles in the old transmission fluid, likely from the rough gear shifting when the sensor was faulty. Thankfully no permanent damage occurred. They also updated the transmission control unit software while fixing the overheating problems. Its been 3 months since the repair and the transmission is shifting perfectly. No more grinding sounds or warning lights. Getting it fixed early definitely saved me from bigger transmission repair costs later. Really appreciate your detailed response, it helped convince me to get it checked right away rather than waiting.

Had similar transmission issues with my Suzuki S-Cross 2019. The symptoms match exactly what I experienced, transmission warning light, rough gear shifting, and the car entering limp mode. The root cause was a faulty gearbox sensor system that incorrectly reported oil levels. The temperature sensor was misreading, causing the transmission control unit to receive wrong data. This triggered the safety protocol in the transmission. The repair involved: Complete diagnostic scan, Replacing the temperature sensor, Cleaning the gearbox oil level sensor, Flushing and replacing transmission fluid, Recalibrating the transmission control unit This was a serious issue that required immediate attention. Continuing to drive with these symptoms risks damaging the transmission permanently. The grinding sounds often indicate the gearbox is trying to protect itself from low oil pressure or excessive heat. These sensor issues are relatively common in this generation of Suzuki transmissions. Getting a second opinion is wise, but look for a shop with experience in transmission electronics and sensor diagnostics. The fix is straightforward when properly diagnosed. After the repair, transmission performance returned to normal with smooth gear shifting and no warning lights.
