The proximity sensors? I hadn't thought of that. Are they easy to access? Can I test them without special equipment? Where do I even start looking for the sensors?

On the Volvo, they were accessible behind the bumpers. Testing them without proper tools might be tricky. Given your symptoms and the possibility of a faulty connection, a quick trip to a trusted workshop might be worth it. They'll pinpoint the issue quickly! You could try to fix it yourself but is it really worth your time?

I took it to the shop. It was a defective cable/plug connection. They charged me 95€, and now everything's working perfectly! I appreciate the advice about the sensors and the encouragement to seek professional help.

I know that feeling! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The parking assist just died. Did you check the connections to the proximity sensors? Sometimes corrosion or a loose plug can cause problems. Could it be the same issue with your Volt?
