Volvo V40 Transport Mode Issue

My 2004 Volvo V40, gasoline engine, with 140680 km is showing 'transport mode' on the dashboard. This is causing electrical malfunctions and the navigation system isn't working. It's like the car thinks it's new. What could cause this?

That's weird. Something similar happened on my old 2012 Peugeot 308. It wasn't exactly 'transport mode,' but the electronics went haywire after a battery replacement. The ECU seemed confused. Did you recently disconnect or replace the battery? Have you tried a diagnostic check?

No, the battery hasn't been disconnected or replaced. A diagnostic check showed 'transport mode active' as the cause. Any other ideas?

If a diagnostic tool is flagging 'transport mode,' it's more than a simple battery issue. My Peugeot needed a full ECU reset, which only the dealer could do. Looks like the Volvo needs the same treatment. A workshop visit will be unavoidable, they will solve it.

I appreciate the advice. I suspected a workshop visit was inevitable. As the vehicle was new to me, I returned it to the seller who has resolved the issue. The repair cost was 0€.
