VW Amarok Audio Dead: Complete Speaker System Failure

Last service was at 45000km and I am experiencing this exact same problem now. In my case, resetting the head unit temporarily fixed the audio connectivity for about a day, but then the car speakers went silent again. The auxiliary input and Bluetooth both stopped working completely. My trim level is Highline with the premium sound system package. The issue started suddenly after a particularly hot day. No buzzing or sound distortion of any kind, just complete silence from all speakers. Will try disconnecting the battery tonight as suggested, but sounds like I might be facing a similar speaker assembly issue. Good to know the repair costs were reasonable in your case.

I had exactly that heat-related pattern with my Tiguan too. The temporary fix after resetting only worked briefly, just like yours. The complete radio silence would return within 24-48 hours, especially during hot weather. The battery disconnect might help temporarily, but based on my experience, the root cause was definitely the faulty speaker assembly. The heat sensitivity was actually a telling sign, the premium sound system in these models uses temperature-sensitive components that can fail under extreme conditions. Since you mentioned having the same premium audio package, there is a high chance you are dealing with the identical issue. In my case, the workshop found that heat exposure had damaged the connection between the amp and the bass speaker, triggering the system-wide shutdown that affected all audio sources including Bluetooth functionality. The replacement speaker assembly has much better heat tolerance. After the repair, my sound system has handled hot weather without any volume control or audio output problems. Would definitely recommend getting it checked soon before the temporary fixes stop working altogether.

I appreciate the detailed feedback about the heat-related sound system issues. After trying the battery disconnect last night, I got the same temporary results, sound worked for about 12 hours then cut out again. The volume control shows normal operation on the display but the car speakers remain completely silent. Given the matching symptoms and especially the heat sensitivity pattern, I will go ahead and book a workshop appointment. The complete radio silence across all audio sources, including the auxiliary input and Bluetooth, seems to point to the same speaker assembly problem you encountered. Good to know the repair costs were reasonable and that the replacement parts have better heat tolerance. The premium sound system was a key feature for me when choosing the Highline trim, so I want to get this fixed properly rather than continue with temporary resets. Thanks for sharing your experience, saved me a lot of troubleshooting time by identifying such a specific matching case. Will update once the workshop confirms if it is indeed the same speaker assembly issue.

I had a very similar sound quality issue with my 2019 VW Tiguan. As someone with some basic car maintenance experience, I initially tried the usual troubleshooting, checking fuses, disconnecting the battery, and resetting the head unit. But the complete radio silence persisted across all audio sources. Took it to my workshop where they diagnosed a defective bass speaker that was causing a complete system shutdown. The amp was cutting off to protect the circuit. They had to replace the speaker assembly, which solved the sound distortion and restored normal function to the Bluetooth, USB audio, and radio. Total repair cost was 280€ including parts and labor. The sound system has worked flawlessly since then. For a more specific diagnosis of your Amarok: Which trim level do you have? Is it the standard or premium audio system? Did the issue start suddenly or develop gradually? Can you hear any slight buzzing from the speakers when the volume is high? These details would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced with my Tiguan.
