Latest service was at 50000km and currently showing 52657km. Can confirm the right turn signal flashes faster than normal and only affects that side. No prior front end work or visible damage to the lens housing. After reading your feedback about the wiring issues, I checked around the signal lamp assembly and noticed some signs of wear on the cables. The broken wire connection you mentioned sounds very similar to my situation, especially since the speedometer errors started right after the turn signal problems. Going to have the wiring harness inspected for any electrical fault before proceeding with a basic bulb replacement, since that alone probably wont resolve the underlying issue. Thanks for sharing the cost info, helps set expectations for the potential repair bill if it turns out to be the same problem.

This does sound exactly like what I experienced. The fast flashing turn indicator is a classic symptom of an electrical fault in the circuit, and seeing wear on the cables near the signal lamp assembly is a red flag. After my repair, I learned these wiring issues often develop gradually due to normal vibration and movement in that area. The speedometer errors occur because the modern vehicle electrical system monitors the turn indicator circuit and triggers fault codes when detecting inconsistent signals. When the workshop fixed mine, they actually found multiple spots where the wire insulation had worn thin, not just the one obvious damaged section. The repair included adding protective sleeving to prevent future wear. The total circuit check and repair took about 2 hours. Make sure the workshop checks the flasher relay connections as well. In my case, the intermittent short circuit had affected the relay performance, though fortunately it didnt need replacement. The lamp replacement alone definitely would not have solved the root cause. Since your mileage and symptoms match my experience so closely, I would bet on finding similar wiring damage. Getting it fixed properly the first time will prevent recurring issues with the turn signal system.

Thanks for the detailed explanation of your experience with the Tiguan wiring issue. The wear pattern near my signal lamp assembly matches what you described, and the fast flashing is definitely a telltale sign something is wrong with the circuit. I called the workshop and scheduled an inspection for next week. Mentioned the potential wiring harness damage and how it might be causing both the turn indicator malfunction and speedometer errors. They confirmed they will check the entire circuit including the flasher relay connections. Good point about the protective sleeving, I will make sure they include that in the repair to prevent the same issue from happening again. The 2-hour repair time and cost estimate helps me plan accordingly. Will update once I know what they find, but based on the identical symptoms, I expect they will discover similar automotive lighting system damage. Better to get the electrical fault fixed properly now rather than just replacing bulbs and having the problem return. The fast flashing turn indicator and dashboard errors are annoying enough already without becoming a recurring issue.

I had a similar issue with my 2018 VW Tiguan last summer, and as someone with basic car maintenance experience, I initially thought it was just a simple bulb replacement needed. The turn indicator started acting erratically, triggering dashboard warnings and speedometer errors. After attempting to replace the bulb myself, the problem persisted. The flasher relay seemed to work inconsistently, which pointed to a deeper electrical fault. Took it to a workshop where they diagnosed a damaged wire connection near the front turn indicator assembly. The cable insulation had worn through, causing intermittent shorts. They fixed the cable connection and checked the entire indicator circuit. Total repair cost was 95€, which included diagnostic time. If you are experiencing similar symptoms, it would help to know: Does the turn indicator flash faster than normal? Are both sides affected or just one side? Did you notice any broken lens or water ingress around the indicator housings? Have you recently had any front-end repairs done? This information would help determine if you are dealing with a similar electrical fault or potentially a different issue.
