Thanks for sharing your GTI experience. Your situation sounds very similar to what I had with my Beetle. Before taking it to a specialized shop, curious to know how much the diagnostic and reset work cost you? Just want to make sure I budget properly since my onboard diagnostics are still showing incomplete readiness monitors. Also wondering if youve had any recurring issues with the emissions test or exhaust system since getting it fixed? Really helpful to hear the full reset and drive cycle worked for you. Hoping for a similar straightforward solution.

Since fixing my GTI issue, everything has worked perfectly. The OBD readiness monitors are all complete, and I havent faced any problems with emissions tests or the exhaust system. The car diagnostics remain clear, with no error codes returning. The good news is the fix was completely free. The shop acknowledged the computer reset should have been done properly during the initial service. They performed the correct OBD reset procedure and helped set up the drive cycle parameters at no charge. Make sure the shop uses proper VW diagnostic equipment, its crucial for these electronic issues. Once they completed the reset sequence, a short drive cycle was all it took to get the system back to normal. Looking back, the incomplete readiness monitors were definitely caused by improper reset procedures after routine maintenance. A qualified technician should be able to resolve this quickly, especially if its just a matter of computer reset like in my case.

Taking your advice, I went to a VW specialized shop yesterday. Turns out you were spot on, the previous mechanic hadnt properly reset the computer system after service. The new shop ran a complete diagnostic scan which showed no actual component issues. They performed a proper computer reset and helped me understand the drive cycle process. The whole thing cost 120€, but it was worth every cent for the peace of mind. After completing the recommended drive cycle, my check engine light cleared and all system readiness monitors are now working correctly. The speedometer is back to normal, and the exhaust system parameters are showing proper readings. Really glad I asked here first, saved me from worrying about potential major repairs. The onboard diagnostics are now all green, and the car runs perfectly. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction with the reset solution.

Had similar troubles with my 2013 VW Golf GTI. After routine service, car diagnostics showed multiple sensor errors. The system readiness monitors were not completing their cycle, affecting the speedometer readings. The root cause was an incomplete reset after service work. When mechanics disconnect the battery or use diagnostic tools, the onboard diagnostics system needs proper reset procedures. The vehicle inspection showed all hardware was fine, but the computer needed a specific reset sequence. The fix required: Full system scan to verify no actual component failures, Proper OBD reset procedure using professional diagnostic equipment, Completion of drive cycle to reset all readiness monitors, Verification of speedometer calibration Important: Never clear codes without proper diagnostics first. My case was just a reset issue, but similar symptoms can indicate serious sensor or wiring problems. A qualified shop with VW-specific diagnostic tools should handle this to avoid complications. The check engine light stayed off after proper reset and drive cycle completion. The whole readiness monitoring system returned to normal operation within 50km of driving.
