VW Eos TPMS Warning Persists Despite Proper Pressure

My Eos has 54224km and is serviced regularly. After trying the TPMS reset multiple times, the warning still persists. Used a digital pressure gauge to verify all tire pressures are correct. The warning appears for all tires about 10 minutes into driving. The original tire pressure sensors have never been replaced, so they are over 17 years old now. Based on what you shared about sensor battery life, this definitely points to worn out sensors needing replacement. Will schedule service to get all sensors replaced since they are the same age.

Your situation matches my Passat experience exactly. When all TPMS sensors start failing around the same time, its definitely related to their age, 17 years is well beyond their typical lifespan. The behavior you describe with warnings appearing after 10 minutes of driving is a classic sign of failing sensor batteries. The sensors initially wake up and transmit, but cant maintain consistent communication as the vehicle warms up, triggering the tire pressure warning. After replacing all sensors on my VW, the flat tire warnings completely stopped. Just ensure the shop uses OEM-quality TPMS sensors, some aftermarket versions can be problematic. Also worth having them check the air valve stems during installation since these rubber parts can deteriorate over time. For reference, current sensor replacement costs remain similar to what I paid, expect around 280-320€ total for all four sensors including programming. The job typically takes under two hours if no additional issues are found. Let us know how the repair goes, good to share these experiences since many VWs from that era are now facing similar TPMS sensor battery failures.

Thanks for the detailed information. After getting this sorted with my worn out sensors, I wanted to follow up on my Eos TPMS issue outcome. Had all four sensors replaced as suggested. The flat tire warning finally cleared after 17 years of original sensors. Total repair cost was 295€ including parts, labor and programming. The shop confirmed the old sensors had failing batteries, which matched the symptoms of warnings appearing after short drives despite correct air pressure readings. For anyone else dealing with stubborn TPMS issues on older VWs, checking sensor age was key in my case. A proper tire check with a pressure gauge confirmed tire pressures were good, pointing directly to sensor problems. Getting all sensors replaced at once made sense since they were all original. Really appreciate the advice about going with quality sensors. The shop installed OEM-spec parts and also checked the valve stems during the work. No more warning lights after 2 months of driving. Definitely worth fixing rather than ignoring those persistent TPMS warnings.

Having dealt with a similar TPMS issue on my 2008 VW Passat, I can share my experience as someone with moderate car maintenance knowledge. The low tire warning persisting despite correct air pressure is often related to faulty TPMS sensors. After checking the air valve and tire pressure multiple times, my workshop diagnosed a sensor fault caused by depleted sensor batteries. These batteries typically last 5-8 years. The repair involved replacing all four TPMS sensors since they were all from the same age. Total cost was 280€ including programming. The sensor battery cant be replaced separately, the entire sensor unit needs swapping. Before heading to the workshop, you might want to try this quick check: Reset your TPMS system (procedure in owners manual) after confirming proper tire pressure. If the warning returns quickly, its likely a sensor issue. To provide more specific guidance, could you share: Current mileage, When was the last time sensors were replaced, Does the warning appear immediately after startup, Are you getting the warning for specific tires or all of them This would help determine if your situation matches what I experienced with my Passat.
