Thanks for sharing your T-Roc experience. I just had my lateral sensor fixed on my 2021 Nivus last month. The ABS module definitely needed recalibration after the sensor swap, just like in your case. The vehicle stability is back to normal now, but Im curious, do you remember the total repair cost? Also, has everything worked perfectly since the fix, or have you noticed any other electronic stability quirks?

Good to hear you got the lateral acceleration sensor fixed. After my T-Roc repair, everything has worked flawlessly with no recurring electronic control issues. The traction control and stability systems are functioning exactly as they should. The total repair came to 1000€ for the affected control unit replacement and recalibration. This included the diagnostic work and proper initialization of the yaw rate sensors. The price was worth it for the peace of mind, knowing the vehicle stability systems are working correctly. Since the fix, all safety warning lights have stayed off and the ABS operates perfectly. Its important to have these systems working properly, as they play a crucial role in preventing accidents, especially during emergency maneuvers.

Got the car back from the shop yesterday. The lateral sensor replacement went smoothly and cost me 850€ total. The mechanic found slight corrosion on the wiring harness near the ABS module which they cleaned up during the repair. All electronic stability functions are working perfectly now, tested the traction control on some wet roads and its responding as it should. The wheel alignment was slightly off too, so they adjusted that while the car was up on the lift. Really glad I got it sorted quickly. No more vehicle stability warnings on the dash and the ABS works flawlessly again. Much better peace of mind knowing all safety systems are back to 100%.

Had the same fault on a 2018 T-Roc 1.5 TSI. The lateral acceleration sensor failure triggered both ABS and Electronic stability warnings. A diagnostic scan confirmed the sensor malfunction, which impacted the entire stability management system. The repair required replacing the G85 sensor unit in the ABS control module. This is not just a comfort issue, driving without proper ABS and traction control systems poses a real safety warning, especially in emergency braking situations. The sensor replacement itself was straightforward but needed proper calibration after installation. The repair shop had to use specific diagnostic tools to reset and initialize the new sensor. Without calibration, the yaw rate and lateral acceleration readings would remain inaccurate. This is a recognized issue that affects vehicle stability control. Would strongly recommend getting it fixed at an authorized workshop since they have the correct diagnostic equipment and coding capabilities. The fault rarely occurs without an underlying cause, so they should also check the wiring harness and mounting points for any damage.
