Thanks for sharing your T-Roc experience. The symptoms sound exactly like what my Nivus was going through. Quick question, do you remember what the final repair cost was for the injector work? Also wondering if you have had any fuel system or emissions related issues since the repair was done? My mechanic quoted quite a high price and I am trying to get a sense if it is reasonable.

Since fixing the injection nozzle defect on my T-Roc, the vehicle has performed flawlessly with no further emissions or fuel system problems. Total cost came to 515€ for diagnosing and repairing the dirty injection valve, which included thorough testing and cleaning of all components. The price your mechanic quoted might seem high, but proper injector work requires specialized diagnostic equipment and expertise. Considering the improvement in performance and fuel economy after the repair, plus preventing potential long-term engine damage, the investment was worthwhile. My experience shows that addressing injection system issues promptly helps avoid more serious and costly problems down the road. The improvement in engine performance was noticeable immediately after the repair, no more rough starts or diesel-like clattering at idle. Regular maintenance and quality fuel have kept the system running smoothly since the replacement. Would recommend getting the repair done sooner rather than later to prevent any risk of complete injector failure or engine damage from fuel delivery issues.

After getting multiple opinions, I finally took my Nivus to a trusted mechanic who specializes in VW fuel systems. The diagnostic confirmed my fears, severe clogging in the fuel injectors causing the misfire and performance issues. Two injectors needed complete replacement while the others required intensive cleaning. The final repair bill came to 480€, which included: Full diagnostic testing, Removal and cleaning of all injectors, Replacement of 2 faulty units, Labor costs, New seals and gaskets The difference in performance after repair was immediate. The rough idle completely disappeared, and the engine runs smoothly again with normal fuel consumption. No more power loss or stalling issues. Really glad I investigated this properly instead of putting it off. The mechanic showed me the carbon buildup in the old injectors, it was pretty shocking. Going to be more vigilant with maintenance and fuel quality going forward to prevent this from happening again. The entire repair took about 5 hours, but the peace of mind was worth the wait and cost. Three months later and the car still runs perfectly.

Had nearly identical symptoms on a 2018 VW T-Roc with the gasoline engine. The misfire symptoms and rough idle matched exactly what you describe. After inspection, all four injection valves were severely clogged with carbon deposits, restricting proper fuel delivery to the engine. The repair involved removing, cleaning, and testing each injector. The technician discovered two injectors were beyond cleaning and required replacement. The vehicle immediately showed improvement after repair, smoother idle, restored power delivery, and normal fuel consumption returned. This is considered a serious issue since dirty or faulty injectors can lead to progressive engine damage if left untreated. The carbon buildup affects engine performance and can cause long-term reliability issues. The diagnosis was straightforward using specialized testing equipment to measure injector spray patterns. In my case, the repair resolved all symptoms completely. Regular fuel system maintenance and using quality gasoline helps prevent this issue from recurring. Would strongly recommend having the injectors properly tested rather than just cleaned or replaced based on assumptions. Poor injector function can sometimes indicate other underlying fuel system problems that should be addressed simultaneously.
