Really appreciate your detailed response. My symptoms sound identical, especially the rough idle and poor throttle response. Getting it checked this week for sure, as I want to avoid any additional engine damage. Since everyone here is super helpful, would you mind sharing what you ended up paying for the injector replacement job? Also curious if youve had any other issues pop up since the repair? The check engine light still worries me and Id like to know if fixing the injectors resolved everything completely for you.

Had the work done last week actually, injector issues were exactly what caused the engine misfiring. The rough idle and weak throttle response disappeared completely after replacing the faulty fuel injector. Total bill came to 515€ including parts and labor. The mechanic found one completely defective injection valve that was causing the combustion misfires. After replacement, the engine runs perfectly smooth now with no check engine light. Throttle response is back to normal and the car pulls strong again through all gears. Have put about 500km on it since the repair without any issues returning. The spark plugs tested fine so we didnt need to replace those. Based on the diagnostic results, catching the bad injector early prevented any additional engine damage. If your symptoms match what I experienced, getting it checked soon is definitely the right call. These fuel injector problems are pretty common at your mileage and fixing them promptly helps avoid bigger headaches down the road.

After reading about similar experiences here, I took my Scirocco to a trusted mechanic recommended by a. The diagnosis confirmed what many suggested, bad fuel injectors causing the cylinder misfire issues. The repair took about 4 hours total. They replaced two faulty injectors and installed a fresh set of spark plugs while they were at it. Total cost came to 580€, which seemed fair given the work involved. Been driving it for about two weeks now and the difference is night and day. The engine runs smooth as silk, no more jerking or hesitation when accelerating. The check engine light is gone and power is completely restored. Ignition coil and compression tests all came back normal too. Really glad I caught this early before it could cause more serious engine damage. The mechanic explained these issues are pretty standard maintenance items at this mileage. Thanks to everyone who helped point me in the right direction with the diagnosis.

I experienced similar symptoms on my 2011 VW Golf GTI 2.0 TSI. The rough running, poor throttle response and engine misfiring turned out to be a failed fuel injector. The check engine light came on during highway driving, and the engine started running noticeably rougher, especially at idle. Initial diagnosis revealed cylinder misfire codes similar to yours. The garage found one faulty injector that was not atomizing fuel properly, leading to incomplete combustion. All four injectors were tested, one had failed completely while another showed early wear signs. This was a serious issue requiring prompt attention since bad injectors can cause additional engine damage if left unfixed. The repair involved replacing two fuel injectors and all four spark plugs as preventive maintenance. The other two injectors tested within spec. After the repair, the engine ran smoothly again with proper throttle response and no more misfiring. Given the similar symptoms and engine family, I suggest having your fuel injectors tested. Worth noting that injector issues are relatively common on these engines once they pass 70000km.
