VW Suran Fuel Pressure Sensor Causes Stalling Issues

Thanks for the detailed information. My Suran has 20201km and the last service was 3 months ago. Just like you described, the issue gets notably worse when the engine warms up. The main error code Im getting is P0193, which points directly to the fuel rail pressure sensor. Its good to hear replacing the sensor fixed similar symptoms in your case. The stalling and power loss matches exactly what Im experiencing. Has the repair held up well long-term? The fuel injection system seems quite sensitive and Id want to ensure using quality parts for any repairs.

Thanks for those details. My Golf had about 25000km when the issue occurred, so our situations are very similar. Since replacing the rail pressure sensor over a year ago, I havent experienced any recurrence of the symptoms or fuel injection system problems. That P0193 code is exactly what I had too. The faulty sensor reading was causing the ECU to miscalculate fuel delivery, leading to those engine performance issues you described. The diesel engine management system relies heavily on accurate pressure readings from this sensor to maintain proper fuel injection timing and quantity. Some key points from my experience: Make sure to use OEM parts for the fuel rail components. Aftermarket sensors can be hit or miss with these sensitive systems, The entire repair took about 2 hours at the workshop, The fuel system required a proper bleed after sensor replacement, Engine performance returned to normal immediately after repair One tip: while waiting for the repair, try to avoid letting the fuel tank get too low, as this can put additional stress on the fuel injection system when its already struggling with incorrect pressure readings. The consistent behavior pattern and matching error code strongly suggests youre dealing with the same root cause I had. Getting it fixed sooner rather than later will prevent potential damage to other fuel system components.

Thanks everyone for the insights. After considering the similar experiences and matching symptoms, I feel much more confident about proceeding with the pressure sensor replacement. Really helpful to know the repair has proven reliable long-term in other cases. I will make sure to source an OEM sensor through my regular workshop and have them do a proper fuel system bleed during installation. The matching P0193 code and identical warm engine behavior confirms what I suspected about the rail pressure sensor being the culprit. Good tip about keeping the tank filled while waiting for the repair. I will schedule this in next week and hopefully resolve these fuel injection issues once and for all. Will be sure to update the thread after the fix to confirm if it solved the stalling and power problems completely.

As someone with moderate experience working on VWs, I had a very similar issue with my 2016 VW Golf TSI. The symptoms were nearly identical, check engine light, rough idle, and significant power loss. The rail pressure sensor was sending incorrect signals to the ECU, causing these problems. After scanning with my basic OBD tool, the pressure sensor signal error kept showing up. Had the same concerns about unnecessary repairs, but the faulty sensor was definitely the root cause. The workshop confirmed this through proper diagnostics and testing the fuel rail pressure sensor signal values. The repair involved replacing the defective pressure sensor, which restored proper engine performance and resolved all symptoms. Total cost was 240€ including parts and labor. Been running perfectly for months now with no check engine lights. Before suggesting specific solutions, it would help to know: Current mileage on your Suran? Any recent fuel system work done? Are you getting specific error codes? Does the issue get worse when the engine is warm? These details would help determine if your situation matches what I experienced and whether the sensor replacement might solve your problems too.
