VW Tiguan 2018 problems (2018) with the exhaust gas recirculation or EGR valve

Hello everyone, my Tiguan (2018, diesel, 165,432 km) is currently causing real problems: Check Engine light on, engine stops by itself, loss of power, rough engine running, strong exhaust smell and shuddering at idle. Didn't have a good experience at the last workshop visit and now suspect that the EGR valve could be the culprit. Have any of you ever had similar symptoms? What was the cause and how was the workshop service? Thank you very much!

Check the glow plugs and their relay, as they play a crucial role in starting a diesel engine smoothly, especially in cold conditions. A faulty glow plug can cause rattling until the engine warms up. Let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions!

Good day, but it only does this sporadically, not always. Before, it didn't do this at all, and there are no errors in the diagnostics. There is no problem starting, it does it a few times when starting cold and then it stops. Thank you

Inspect the engine mounts for wear or damage, as they can cause intermittent rattling noises, especially when the engine is cold and vibrations are more pronounced. If the mounts are worn, they may not effectively dampen engine vibrations. Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you have more questions!
