Warning light and increased fuel consumption in a 2018 BMW X3 Diesel - experience reports and tips wanted

Hey guys, I have problems with my 2018 BMW X3 Diesel (mileage 48612 km). The warning light in my speedometer is flashing. Last time the mechanic was a real disaster and I now think my brakes might be worn out. Has anyone had similar experiences or positive or negative experiences with mechanics with such problems? Fuel consumption is also increased. Any tips will help! Thanks in advance!

The brakes were completely replaced on 24.06.2024. Why can't the service status be reset?

It sounds like the brake wear sensor might not have been replaced when the brakes were done, or it could be a glitch in the system. Try resetting the brake pad warning light. If the light comes back on, you should have the brake wear sensor checked or replaced. If the problem persists, it's best to have a mechanic look at it.

Hello, I think the topic creator got something mixed up here. Which error were you able to read out exactly?

Just a coincidence, I had the same problems. I solved the DSC error by changing the brake pads, but after changing the turbocharger(quickly found a used local one so I could go on vacation😁), now it is still limited mainly by the 3f57/Charge-air pressure controller error. Checked all intake hoses, next to inspect the intercooler, then turbocharger reconditioning.

Hello, Did you use an original wear indicator or one from the aftermarket? It is often the case that only original wear indicators work. Of course, the wiring harness to the ABS/DSC control unit may also be defective. Is the brake fluid level at the correct level?

It sounds like your starter motor might be failing. If the car doesn't start on the first try but does on the second, it's often a sign that the starter motor is on its way out. I'd recommend having it checked by a mechanic. Please keep us updated on your progress.

Hello, I changed the brakes on my series 2 gran tourer as well as the sensors but impossible to make a reset for the maintenance of the pads via the dashboard and with the Carly box it tells me that it has made the reset but nothing changes the brake light remains lit.
