Wind Brake Vibration

I've got a 2013 Renault Wind with a gasoline engine, about 95k km on the clock. Lately, the brakes have been acting up. I'm getting this weird feedback through the pedal, almost like a vibration or pulsing. I've checked the brake fluid level, and it seems fine. I'm wondering if it could be related to some electrical issue because I've been having undervoltage issues lately. Has anyone experienced something similar? Maybe the brake system is somehow affected by the voltage drops?

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Renault Wind owner experienced a vibration or pulsing sensation through the brake pedal, particularly during light to medium braking. The issue was suspected to be linked to recent undervoltage problems. After consulting a mechanic, the cause was identified as worn brake shoes and corrosion on the brake rotors. The mechanic addressed these issues by cleaning and inspecting the brake components, resolving the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

The symptoms you describe could potentially be linked to several factors within the braking system. Can you provide more details regarding the nature of the 'vibration'? Does this occur during light braking, hard braking, or both? Also, have you inspected the brake rotors and brake shoes for any visible signs of wear or damage?

The vibration is definitely more noticeable during light to medium braking, especially at lower speeds. Under hard braking, it's still there, but less pronounced. As for the rotors and shoes, I haven't had a chance to pull the wheels off and inspect them closely yet. Is there anything specific I should be looking for besides the obvious wear and tear?

Based on your description, I would advise against further troubleshooting without a comprehensive inspection. Given the potential link to undervoltage and the symptoms you're experiencing, it would be prudent to consult a qualified mechanic to diagnose the root cause. Continuing to drive the vehicle in this condition may pose a safety risk.

I took your advice and brought it into the workshop. Turns out it was a combination of worn brake shoes and some corrosion on the brake rotors. They also checked the brake calipers and cleaned everything up. Total cost was around 240€, which isn't too bad. I really appreciate the suggestion to get it checked out properly!
