Yeah, definitely noticed some low power, especially when accelerating. You think it’s definitely the VANOS then? What was the fix?

Sounds exactly like what happened with mine. Honestly, I'm no mechanic, but all the symptoms point that way. I wouldn't mess with it myself. I took it straight to the shop.

Thanks! Looks like I'll bite the bullet and take it in. It was indeed the inlet VANOS mechanics faulty. The garage identified a defect in one of the camshaft solenoid valves. Repair cost me 250€. Thanks for the pointer!

Ugh, VANOS issues. I've been there! I have a Wind too. Check engine light and terrible fuel economy sound familiar. Did you notice any low power as well?
