Wingroad Defective Battery Sensor
Summary of the thread
The owner of a 2000 Nissan Wingroad experienced issues with a heavily discharged battery, error messages, weak lights, and engine starting problems. These symptoms suggested a potential defective battery sensor. After checking the battery terminals and considering the battery's age, it was advised to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed. A workshop confirmed the defective battery sensor, replaced it, and resolved the issue.

Thank you for your response. The battery terminals appear to be clean and securely fastened. I replaced the vehicle battery approximately three years ago. I have not checked the voltage, but is there anything else I should be looking for if it is not the battery itself?

Right, three years isn't ancient for a battery, but it's not brand new either. Given you've checked the terminals and you're still seeing those issues, and knowing there's an error code stored, it really does sound like that battery sensor could be the problem as you initially suspected. Without proper diagnostic equipment, it's tough to say for sure. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it properly checked out. You don't want to risk getting stranded somewhere with a completely dead battery.

I appreciate the advice. I took the vehicle to a workshop as suggested. The diagnostic confirmed a defective battery sensor, which they replaced. The repair cost was 315€. The issue is now resolved.

Hey there! Those symptoms definitely point to a battery or electrical issue. I had similar problems with my older car a few years back. First thing I'd check are the battery terminals. Make sure they're clean and tight. A loose connection can cause all sorts of weirdness. Also, how old is the vehicle battery itself? A tired battery is often the culprit. Have you checked the voltage?
