Wingroad Electrical Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Nissan Wingroad is experiencing electrical issues, including a general electrical malfunction error and a non-functional navigation system. The garage suspects an implausible control unit programming and quotes 240€ for repairs. A similar case involved a temporary fix through a software reset, but ultimately required professional diagnosis and reprogramming of the control unit. The recommendation is to seek professional repair to avoid further complications.

Thanks! When you say software reset, do you mean disconnecting the battery, or something else? Was the control unit the root cause?

I tried disconnecting the battery first, but it didn't permanently solve it. It sounds like your control unit is the problem. I had to take mine to a workshop for diagnosis and reprogramming. Don't mess with it yourself, you could brick it.

Thanks for confirming. Sounds like I'm going to the workshop. Hopefully, the repair cost won't exceed the quote. I appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Wingroad. Same symptoms: error codes, electrical stuff going haywire, and the sat nav failing. Did you try a software reset? It sometimes clears things, but it was only a temporary fix for me.
