Wingroad Manifold Pressure Sensor Issue

I'm experiencing engine performance issues with my 2008 Nissan Wingroad, gasoline engine. 136725 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed reduced engine power, poor engine response, and high fuel consumption. I suspect a faulty manifold pressure sensor, possibly from a large vacuum leakage. Has anyone else had similar problems with their Wingroad?

Summary of the thread

A 2008 Nissan Wingroad owner reported engine performance issues, including reduced power, poor response, and high fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. Suspecting a faulty manifold pressure sensor, possibly due to a vacuum leak, the owner confirmed out-of-range sensor readings using an OBD-II scanner. Another Wingroad owner advised visiting a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair. The issue was resolved by replacing the sensor and fixing the vacuum leak, restoring the vehicle's performance.

I also drive a Wingroad and experienced very similar symptoms some time ago. If it is the manifold pressure sensor, have you verified the sensor readings using an OBD-II scanner? Were the readings within the expected range?

I did check the sensor readings with an OBD-II scanner. The readings were consistently out of range, indicating a problem with the sensor itself or a vacuum leak affecting its performance. Did your issue also present with out-of-range sensor readings, and how did you resolve it?

Yes, the readings were similarly erratic and outside the normal parameters. Given your diagnostic results, I strongly suggest you visit a qualified workshop as soon as possible to have the issue properly diagnosed and repaired. Delaying could lead to further engine damage.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. I brought it to a workshop as you suggested. It was indeed the manifold pressure sensor, triggered by a vacuum leak. Replacing the sensor and fixing the leak cost 235€. Now it is running perfectly again!
