Wingroad Transmission Slipping Grinding
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Nissan Wingroad is experiencing transmission issues, including slipping, unclean shifts, and grinding noises, with the check engine and transmission indicator lights on. The problem is suspected to be related to the automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch. A similar issue was resolved by replacing a defective torque converter, and a full diagnostic by a transmission specialist is recommended.

Thanks for the quick response! The slipping seems most noticeable between 2nd and 3rd gear. The grinding is intermittent, but definitely present when shifting up into 4th sometimes. Does this sound like your issue?

Yep, that's pretty much exactly what I experienced. Turned out to be a defective torque converter. Bite the bullet and take it to a transmission specialist; you'll need a full diagnostic. In my case, the bill was around 2120€. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for confirming my suspicions. I'll get it booked in at a workshop. I feared as much - looks like it's new torque converter time! Cheers again for your help.

Hey, I had something similar happen with my Wingroad. Slipping and unclean shifts are definitely not a good sign. Is it happening in all gears, or just some? And how bad is the grinding?
