WRV immobilizer problem
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda WRV with a gasoline engine is experiencing immobilizer problems, where the engine either doesn't start or starts briefly before cutting out, and an error is stored in the memory. The issue is suspected to be related to key programming. After trying a spare key with no success, it is suggested to check the key's transponder and consider incorrect key programming as a potential cause. The problem is resolved by reprogramming the key at a workshop.

Good shout, yes I tried the spare key; same thing. Do you think it is a faulty transponder or is it more likely to be the car's immobilizer itself?

Based on my experience, it sounds like incorrect key programming. I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop; it might save you a headache.

Cheers. Took it to the shop; you were spot on. Key reprogramming was the issue. Cost me 45€. All sorted.

I had similar issues with my Honda CRV. It turned out to be related to the key's transponder. Have you tried your spare key? Does that one work?
