WRV stuck in transport mode

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2021 Honda WRV with a gasoline engine. It seems to be stuck in some kind of 'transport mode'. I've only driven 74375 km. The navigation system is completely unresponsive, and I'm getting what seems like general electrical malfunctions. Is this something related to a vehicle setting, perhaps activated during manufacturing or delivery? Could it be a key fob issue or some immobilizer problem? I'm really hoping I can avoid a costly repair.

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Honda WRV was experiencing issues with being stuck in 'transport mode,' leading to an unresponsive navigation system and general electrical malfunctions. This mode is typically used to prevent battery drain during shipping and should have been deactivated by the dealer during pre-delivery inspection. The problem was resolved by returning the vehicle to the dealer, who used diagnostic tools to deactivate the transport mode, and the issue was covered under warranty with no repair cost.

Interesting issue! Is this a new car to you? Transport mode is usually enabled to prevent battery drain during shipping, but it should have been deactivated by the dealer. It sounds like they might have missed a step during the pre-delivery inspection. What troubleshooting steps have you already taken?

Thanks for the quick response! Yes, the car was technically new when I purchased it. I haven't done much troubleshooting myself, to be honest. I was hoping it was a simple setting I could change. Is there a specific sequence of key fob presses or a hidden menu I should be looking for? Where is this 'transport mode' actually configured? I'm hesitant to start randomly pressing buttons.

I understand your reluctance to poke around randomly! It certainly sounds like transport mode is still active, causing these malfunctions. As the vehicle is new, activating or deactivating transport mode usually involves specific diagnostic tools that are only accessible to qualified workshops. It's best to take it back to the dealer and explain the situation. This should absolutely be covered under warranty, and there should be no repair cost involved.

You were absolutely right! I took the WRV back to the dealer, and they confirmed it was a missed step during the initial setup. They deactivated the transport mode using their diagnostic tools, and everything is working perfectly now. They didn't charge me anything. Thanks so much for your help!
