X Klasse seat heating problem
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Mercedes X Klasse Diesel is experiencing a seat heating issue, accompanied by an error message. The problem could be due to a failure of the seat heating element, similar to a fuse blowing, or possibly a loose connection in the wiring under the seat. While inspecting the wiring and seat cushion is possible, it may be more efficient to consult a professional workshop for diagnosis and repair, as the heating element is likely the main issue.

How can I check the wiring under the seat and inspect the seat cushion to identify the fault Are there any specific tools required, or is it best to consult a professional

Checking the wiring is straightforward Just visually inspect the connections under the seat for anything obviously loose or damaged The seat cushion itself, you'd need to remove the seat to really inspect it, which isn't too hard, but can be fiddly Honestly, if you're getting an error code and the heating isn't working, it's likely the heating element itself is done for In my case, I just took it to a workshop Saved myself a lot of headache They quoted around 390€ for the heating repair

I appreciate the advice Based on your experience, I'll schedule an appointment with a trusted workshop to diagnose and address the seat heating issue I wanted to thank you The repair cost was similar to your estimate

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my X Klasse Does the error point to a specific heating element It could be the seat heating mat itself When mine went, it was like a fuse blowing in your house – everything just stopped Have you checked the wiring under the seat Sometimes a loose connection can cause the same symptoms The seat cushion is also worth inspecting, though the heating repair itself might be the more likely issue
