XC40 engine stalling reduced power

Hey, my 2019 Volvo XC40, gasoline engine, is acting up. Check engine light is on, it stalls sometimes when idling, and power seems reduced. Mileage is at 39245 km. Could a faulty rail pressure sensor cause all this?

Sounds familiar. I have an XC40 too, and I had almost the exact same symptoms a while back. Rail pressure sensor issues, maybe? Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Fuel pressure - no, I haven't checked that. How difficult is it to diagnose a faulty rail pressure sensor signal?

It can be tricky without the right tools. The sensor signal can fluctuate, leading to those symptoms you described. Given the stalling and reduced power, I'd say it's worth getting it checked by a workshop. My issue turned out to be a defective sensor. Cost around 240€ to fix.

Thanks for the info! I'll take it to a mechanic to check the sensor then. Seems like that's the most probable cause.
