Good point about the wiring! I haven't had a chance to check the connections yet. Where exactly is the oil level sensor located on the XC40, and is it easy to get to? I'll check the exact error code when I get home.

The oil level sensor on your XC40 is typically located on the lower part of the oil pan. Access can be a bit tight depending on the specific configuration. Given the symptoms and the potential for a faulty sensor or wiring issue, it would be prudent to have a workshop take a look. Continuing to drive with oil pressure warnings could risk engine damage. The cable or plug connection of the component is often defective. The eventual repair cost is likely around 95€.

Okay, thanks a bunch for the detailed info! I'll take it to a shop this week and have them check the sensor and wiring. Hopefully, it's just a loose connection or a faulty sensor. I will report back.

Sounds like a faulty oil level sensor. The error message, warning lights, and stored error codes all point to that. Have you checked the wiring and connections to the sensor itself? A loose or corroded connection is a common culprit and can cause intermittent or constant errors. Also, what's the exact error code you're getting?
