XC40 Transfer Case Defect

I'm experiencing an oil wear fault with the transfer case on my 2020 Volvo XC40 gasoline. Mileage is 114037 km. The gearbox slips and shifts uncleanly. Suspect defective gears.

I have an XC40 too and had something similar. Was it only happening in certain gears, or all the time? Did you check the transfer case oil?

It's consistent across all gears. I'll check the transfer case oil now, but what was your issue ultimately, if you don't mind me asking?

Mine was definitely the transfer case. I took it to a workshop and they confirmed mechanical wear. An oil change didn't resolve the slipping.

Thanks for the advice. Workshop confirmed the issue. Defective gears in the transfer case, repair came to 330€. Sorted now.
