XC60 AdBlue pump failure

Hi, I have a 2018 Volvo XC60 diesel with 134880 km. The AdBlue tank seems to be empty. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer and an error stored in the memory. Now the engine won't start. I suspect a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. Anyone experienced similar issues?

Sounds like your SCR catalyst is choked. Is it possible the fuel efficiency decreased recently? Faulty AdBlue can make the engine light come on, like a Christmas tree.

Fuel efficiency seems normal to me. Could it still be a blocked catalyst, even without loss of power or excessive fuel consumption?

The pump is used to provide the reductant to the catalyst so, yes that could still be the cause. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out.

Thanks for the tip. Turns out the AdBlue pump was faulty, just as suspected. Repair cost me 250€. Now the car is running like new again.
