Thanks for the input. I did a quick visual inspection for vacuum leaks, but didn't find anything obvious. The MAF sensor readings seem within normal parameters according to my scanner. The engine idle is somewhat erratic, fluctuating slightly more than usual. Any more details on your Audi experience? Did the diagnostics also point you directly to the throttle valve?

Yeah, the diagnostics on my Audi initially flagged the throttle position sensor. We even tried cleaning the throttle body thoroughly (which helped marginally for a few days), but the problem kept resurfacing. Eventually, after much head-scratching, the workshop determined it was indeed the throttle valve needing replacement. Considering your erratic idle, fluctuating fuel consumption and error codes pointing that way, I'd suggest getting a professional diagnosis rather than chasing ghosts. Bit the bullet and had it replaced. If that is indeed the source of the issues I'd expect repair cost around 205€ including parts.

Appreciate the detailed response. I'll take your advice and schedule a proper inspection at a trusted workshop. Turns out, the accelerator pedal module was indeed defective. Replaced it and everything's running smoothly now.

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar. I had nearly identical symptoms on my old 2012 Audi A4. High fuel consumption, rough starts...it was a nightmare! Did you check for any vacuum leaks around the intake manifold or any issues with the MAF sensor? It's a long shot, but sometimes weird readings there can cause the throttle to act up. Is the engine idle stable, or does it fluctuate?
