XC60 Lighting Fault

I'm having trouble with the lighting system in my 2023 XC60 gasoline. At around 215100 km, the lights switch on randomly, and there's a consistent error in the memory. I suspect a bad cable or plug connection. Has anyone else seen this?

Sounds familiar. I had almost the exact same thing happen with my XC60. Check the connector block on the light switch itself. They're not the best quality and can get a bit loose. Give it a wiggle and see if anything changes. Could save you a trip to the shop!

That's incredibly helpful, thank you! Could you elaborate on the location of this connector block? Is it easily accessible, or does it require partial disassembly of the dashboard? Any guidance on accessing it safely would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, it's behind the light switch itself. You'll need to carefully pry off the trim around the switch – there are a few plastic clips, so be gentle. Once you get the trim off, the switch is held in with a couple of screws. Unplug the connector and give it a good look. If you're not comfortable with that, honestly, a workshop is probably best. But I'd bet money that's the culprit.

Just wanted to say thanks! Following your advice, the workshop confirmed the faulty connector. The cable or plug connection was indeed defective, just as the error memory suggested. The repair cost was a reasonable 95€. Your suggestion saved me a significant amount of diagnostic time and expense. I appreciate you sharing your expertise!
