XC60 Solar Sensor Fault

I'm having an issue with my 2017 Volvo XC60 diesel. It's showing a solar sensor fault with an error stored. The heating output is also too low. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my XC60 – though I can't remember what year mine is. The symptoms sound identical. Have you checked the sensor itself for any visible damage or corrosion?

Thank you for your response. No, I haven't yet checked the sensor itself. Could you perhaps tell me where I might find the solar sensor on the XC60?

Okay, so I never actually located the sensor myself. I just took it to a workshop and they sorted it out pretty quickly. If the symptoms are identical, it could very well be the same problem. They mentioned something about a faulty connection. Maybe just get it checked out by a professional, save yourself the headache!

I appreciate the advice. Following your suggestion, I took it to a workshop. It was indeed the solar sensor, a defective cable connection, as suspected. The repair cost 95€ Thank you!
