XC70 Diesel Engine Stalling

I had a similar experience with my XC70. Check for a pressure drop in the fuel rail. An engine misfire is also a good starting point. It might be a defective fuel pressure regulator causing the issue. Monitor your fuel efficiency too; a sudden decrease could indicate a problem within the fuel delivery system. Yes, I was referring to the fuel pressure sensor readings. A significant deviation from the specified values at idle and during acceleration would be telling. Regarding fuel efficiency, I noticed about a 15-20% decrease when my regulator started acting up. If you have access to diagnostic tools, monitor the fuel pump activity too.
