XC70 Mixture Preparation Error

I'm facing a mixture preparation error with my 2010 Volvo XC70 diesel (248645 km). It has reduced power, a lit check engine light, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling at idle. Could a defective injection valve/injector be the culprit? I've considered the throttle body, a rich mixture situation, catalytic converter issues, even the mass airflow sensor and spark plugs. Where should I focus?

Those symptoms sound eerily familiar to what I experienced last year with my XC70. Did the problem start gradually, or did it appear more suddenly? Also, have you noticed any difference in fuel consumption?

The issue definitely came on gradually. Fuel consumption seems to be up a bit, though it's hard to say definitively with my usual driving routes. You think you've been through the same? What did it end up being?

Yep, sounds like exactly what happened to me. Gradual onset, the jerking, everything. Given the mileage and symptoms, it's almost certainly the injectors. I'd strongly advise taking it to a workshop to get them properly diagnosed and replaced if necessary. It's not a simple DIY job, in my opinion.

It’s reassuring to hear from someone who's dealt with the exact same issue. I took it to a shop, and as you predicted, the injectors were indeed the problem. Replacement set me back 515€, but now she's running smoothly again!
