XC90 AC Not Cooling

Thanks. No strange noises before it failed. How would I check the AC efficiency?

Good about the noise; odd sounds can mean compressor issues. Checking AC efficiency without tools is tricky. Compare the vent air temperature on a hot day to when the AC was new. A big drop means reduced efficiency, but since yours failed completely, that might not matter. Given the symptoms and relay check, it sounds like a pressure issue or something internal. My issue was faulty valves within the AC unit. Take it to a trusted workshop for diagnosis. They can check refrigerant pressure, look for leaks, and test the compressor. Replacing the valves cost me around 1000€.

Thanks for the information and advice. I'll take it to a workshop. I appreciate you sharing your experience and the potential cost. I will report back with the resolution once it's diagnosed and repaired. It was indeed the valves, costing 1000€.

I have an XC90 too. I had similar symptoms last summer when the AC just stopped. Did you notice any strange noises from the AC compressor before it failed? Have you checked the AC efficiency recently? A gradual decline can indicate a different issue than a sudden failure.
